Focused Therapeutic Approaches
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive behavioral therapy is a psycho-social intervention that aims to improve mental health. CBT focuses on challenging and changing cognitive distortions and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy designed to help individuals manage difficult emotions, reduce conflict in relationships, and build a life worth living. DBT focuses on balancing acceptance and change, teaching practical skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness to support healthier coping and decision-making.
Gottman Method
The Gottman Method is a research-based approach to couples therapy that strengthens relationships through practical tools and insights. It focuses on improving communication, managing conflict, building friendship and intimacy, and fostering shared meaning. By identifying patterns that harm the relationship and teaching skills to replace them with healthy interactions, couples learn to deepen connection and maintain lasting, resilient partnerships.
Areas of Interest
Kids / Teens
Working with kids and teens means meeting them where they are—helping them navigate emotions, relationships, and life’s challenges in a safe, supportive space. Therapy focuses on building coping skills, resilience, and self-awareness while addressing anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, trauma, and social or family stress. The goal is empowering young people to grow, adapt, and thrive.
Medical Conditions
Living with a chronic medical condition can be exhausting and isolating. Therapy provides a supportive space to manage the emotional and mental impact of ongoing health challenges. Through coping strategies, stress management, and resilience-building, clients learn to navigate their condition with greater confidence, maintain emotional well-being, and live a fuller, more balanced life despite health limitations.
Family / Couples
Working with families and couples focuses on strengthening connection, improving communication, and resolving conflict in a supportive environment. Therapy helps identify patterns that create tension, build understanding, and foster empathy among members or partners. By developing healthy interaction skills and shared goals, clients learn to navigate challenges together, strengthen relationships, and create a more connected, resilient family or partnership.
