Colin Meeks, LPC

I graduated with my Master’s of Science in Counseling, in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix in 2024. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a national certification. I believe we all carry many strengths within ourselves that can empower us to achieve better mental health. My goal is to provide a safe space full of empathy, so together we can discover those strengths, learn tools to grow resilience, and help you fulfill your mental health needs.

Specialized Therapeutic Approaches

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy is a psycho-social intervention that aims to improve mental health. CBT focuses on challenging and changing cognitive distortions and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems.

Person-Centered Therapy

Person-centered therapy is a humanistic approach that emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness from the therapist. It trusts that clients have the innate ability to grow and heal when provided with a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. Basically, it’s therapy that says, “You’ve got this—I’m just here to help you see it.”

Eclectic Therapy

Eclectic therapy is a flexible, personalized approach that draws from multiple therapeutic techniques to best meet a client’s unique needs. Instead of sticking to one school of thought, the therapist blends methods—like CBT, psychodynamic, or humanistic—depending on what’s most effective. Think of it as the "greatest hits" album of therapy styles.

Specilized Areas of Expertise

Depression

When working with someone experiencing depression, I don’t rush to fix them—I walk alongside them, offering empathy and support as they rediscover their own strength and worth. My goal is to help them reconnect with who they are beneath the weight of their symptoms

Anxiety

When working with a client struggling with anxiety, I create a calm, supportive space where they can explore their fears without judgment. I listen deeply, helping them feel seen and understood, which often brings relief in itself. My role isn’t to push them to “get over it,” but to empower them to understand and trust themselves as they navigate their anxiety.

Mindfulness

When I integrate mindfulness into therapy, I help clients slow down and tune into the present moment with curiosity and compassion. We might use breathwork, grounding exercises, or mindful observation to build awareness of thoughts and emotions without getting swept away by them. It’s not about forcing calm—it’s about learning to sit with what is, and finding peace there.
